Q:  Do I have to be nude?

A:  Of course not.  What you wear – or don't wear – is entirely up to you.  If you read my Artist's Statement, you will see that I prefer the nude, but the decision is yours.

Q:  If I decide to do nudes, how nude do I have to be?

A:  Again, this is your decision.  The partial - or "implied" - nude can be accomplished through the use of shadow, pose and drapery.  How much you choose to show is at your discretion.

Q:  I've never done this before, and I'm nervous.  What if I can't go through with it?

A:  I've been doing this for 25 years, mostly with very inexperienced models.  Part of the art is in making the subject comfortable and confident in front of the camera, and I'm told I do it very well.  There's nothing to worry about. You can always put your pants on.

Q:  How do I know that my photos are safe from publishing and the internet?

A:  All the models that appear on my website do so only with their express written permission on a Model Release.  If you do not sign a Model Release, I cannot publish your photographs.

Q: Is there any age restriction?

A: You must be at least 18 years of age to pose nude.  Proof of age may be required.

Q:  All the models on your site look perfect.  How can I look like that?

A:  You would be surprised at how many of my models have body issues.  Most of them think they are too fat, too thin, too pale, too old – the list goes on.  Most men have some reservations about their bodies.  I will make you look the best you've ever looked.  That's my job, and I'm good at it.

Q:  How long does the shoot take?

A:  I always schedule a minimum of one hour of actual shooting.  If things go well, it can take as long as 2 hours, so you should plan accordingly.

Q:  Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?

A:  As with most professional photographers, I discourage escorts.  No matter how well-behaved or well-intentioned, they are a distraction, and make the subject self-conscious. This is negotiable, of course.  The photographer should know in advance if an escort will be with you.

Q:  Can I have someone else in the photograph with me?

A:  Yes.  Two – or more – people in a photograph are perfectly acceptable, as long as the photographer knows and agrees in advance. Additional fees will apply.

Q:  What are your fees?

A:  Fees vary according to the requirements of the shoot.  The basic fee is $145.00 for the session.  This includes a minimum of I hour of shooting, up to three wardrobe changes or three looks.  For this, the client receives a CD with a minimum of 10 print-ready photographs.  Basic retouching, such as skin tone, eyes, teeth, and minor blemishes, is included.  Extensive retouching is available on a per hour rate.  Prints are available, and price depends upon size and type of paper.  All charges are agreed upon before the shoot.

Q:  What preparations do I need to be ready for the shoot?

A:  Usually, the fewer, the better.  Just before a photo shoot is no time to be experimenting with your look.  Haircuts look best in photographs when they are a week old.  Avoid any extremes in your look, unless that is what you're going for.  What seems like a good idea can backfire.  Consult with the photographer before making any drastic changes.  You will be provided with a list of "Do's" and "Don't's" before the session.

Q:  I see that you place models into painting or fantasy settings. Can I be in a painting?

A:  Yes.  You are referring to my "Painting with Figures" series in the Fine Art portfolio.  You can be in virtually any painting or setting you choose.  Special fees apply, according to the complexity of the shoot and post-production work required.

Q:  I'm ready to do this.  How do I get started?

A:  Go to the CONTACT link on this site and send an email.  Include the type of shoot you are thinking about, and the dates and times you are available.  Ask any specific questions you may have.  You will be contacted by the photographer, and the process will begin.
